Temperature

Temperature is an important quantity and a key process variable in industries, which is measured by temperature measuring equipment that includes a wide range of instruments and sensors for control and monitoring in industrial, production and commercial systems.
These temperature control systems and automatic processors are used for monitoring and controlling the temperature to maintain a certain temperature in order to optimize production and prevent damage or system failure.Local temperature instruments are typically used for non-critical applications or when temperature fluctuations are minimal or slow. The Automatic use of sensors and other precise instruments that give a signal or alarm when the temperature reaches a certain limit. These sensors and thermometers are used in sensitive and critical situations, which have the ability to change quickly.

This model of measuring instrument is very easy to use due to their design and nature, and there is no need to use an operator to measure temperature.

Temperature measuring sensors have one point in common: They all measure the temperature by sensing some changes in physical characteristic.

Types of temperature measuring equipment

Some  temperature measurement sensors or temperature checking devices are:

Temperature controllers

An integral part of a control system that including on/off and multi-loop controllers.

Heaters

Heaters include cartridge, immersion, wiring and tape used to heat pipes, tanks and other process equipment. These items are used to maintain temperature settings in process and production control and prevent freezing in cold environments.

Infrared sensors

These handheld instruments use infrared energy to provide a temperature reading and display a numerical temperature on the screen. Because these equipment are capable of readings from a distance, they are typically used for applications involving moving equipment or hazardous materials.

Temperature transmitters

Transmitters connect to temperature sensors to transmit signals to a PLC or other display system for monitoring and control purposes.

Thermal imagers

These field instruments use infrared energy to provide non-contact temperature monitoring. When the measurements are taken, it creates a thermal image on the device screen that allows the user to determine the heat levels and profiles. They provide accurate readings and can be used on stationary or mobile equipment.

Temperature switch

Mechanical and electronic temperature switches are used in liquid and gas control applications to open or close switch contacts after a preset temperature is reached.

Dial thermometers

A simple yet accurate method of measuring and indicating temperature using the principles of expansion are bimetallic or gas.

Thermowell

Thermowell protects sensors and instrumentation from high pressure and corrosive or abrasive materials. They also eliminate the need to drain process fluids before removing or replacing the thermometer.

Bimetal thermometers

These thermometers are a type of equipment commonly used in hot water boilers, food production and heating facilities. They are available with or without thermowell and have a threaded or triple clamp connection for secure installation. Typical operating ranges are between 400°F (204°C) and -100°F (-70°C), depending on the thermometer selected.

Thermocouples

Thermocouples are devices that indicate temperature measurement with change in voltage. As temperature measure goes up, the output voltage of the thermocouple rises.
